Grid Gallery Plugin
Not just another WordPress weblogHello GridGallery beta 1!

Background
A client asked for some bespoke Wordpress functionality for displaying pictures from the sidebar. After some messing about I decided stick it all into a WordPress plugin. I realise there may be various incarnations of this plugin already out there but this one is really easy to use.
Features
- Create an accordion of images using custom categories
- Auto-thumbnail feature
- Specify image dimensions
- Accordion is a widget so can be easily added to any sidebar
- Shortcode “grid-gallery” tag for showing large picture within any post or page
Improvements
Things I’d like to do to the plugin if/when I have the time:
- Improve image upload so mulitple images can be added simultaneously
- The plugin adds jQuery and jQueryUI stuff into the <head> tag – I haven’t tested this for conflicts if any of these elements are already present
- Cross-browser testing
- Improve admin integration – so Pics, Categories and Settings have their own menu items
- De-activating plugin does not remove associated database tables yet
- Some Lightview-style functionality for viewing single images and browsing whole categories
- “No. of thumbs per row” feature which calculates thumbnail and accordion widths accordingly
Disclaimer
The plugin is in beta stage at the moment and therefore I cannot accept any responsibility or liability for loss or damage caused by its use (soz).
Note
This page is on a test domain and is not maintained. If there is some interest in the plugin then it may get its very own page . Until then the plugin will hang around here until I decide to stick something else on this domain.
